In this instruction we will tell you how to change the network in the Metamask wallet. By default, this wallet uses the Ethereum network
Why do we switch between different networks? Users are turning to various cryptocurrency blockchain networks due to the problems of high fees on the Ethereum Mainnet. For example, Base Mainnet offers an alternative with lower gas fees, making it an attractive choice for some users. We can use the Base Mainnet to issue ERC-20 tokens with lower gas fees, similar to the Ethereum Mainnet, making the process more cost-effective.
In order to add the Base Mainnet, Binance Smart Chain or any other network, we need to complete the following steps:
-
Open the Metamask extension in the browser:
First, click on the extension image [1], then click on the three vertical dots [2], then click on the "Expand view" line [3] -
Click on the line "Ethereum Mainnet":
-
In the pop-up window, click on the "Add" button for "Binance Smart Chain"
-
Click the "Approve" button:
-
Congratulations! Binance Smart Chain has been successfully added to your wallet!
-
You can now switch between Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain:
